Qingdao is located in eastern shandong province, which is one of China’s most beautiful coast city.

Qingdao is a city of picturesque red-tiled roofs nestled between green hills and blue sea. The mild climate, the bathing beach, and Mount Laoshan make Qingdao a popular health and holiday resort, particularly in summer when visitors come here in droves for sightseeing and escaping the heat. There are many famous companies and brands in Qingdao, including Haier, Hisense, Qingdao Beer and Doublestar, etc. Qingdao, therefore, gained the honorary titles of “The City of China’s Brand” and “Top Ten Brand Cities in China” and so on. And in the year of 2008, Qingdao successfully held the 29th Olympic sailing event, thus being honored as “Sailing Capital of the World”.

Mount Laoshan

The Mount.Lao range in Qingdao was known by ancient Chinese as “the Premier Famous Mountain on the Sea”. The main peak is 1132.7 meters above sea level and has a 18,000km coastline. Mount Lao Scenic Area is a national-level park featuring mountains, sea, forest, springs and waterfalls. Mount Lao is also one of the main cradles of Taoism.

       

       

Bathing Beach

Starting from Cape of Peach (Taipingqiao), the most beautiful section of the beach at Qingdao includes the first beach, the second beach and shi lao ren beach. The limpid water, wide beach, and soft sand make it ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and other marine sports.

The “Zhan Qiao” Pier

The concrete Zhan Qiao” pier is the symbol of the city. It was originally a wooden structure built in 1890 during the reign of the Emperor Guang Xu of the Qing Dynasty. Ten meters wide and stretching four hundred meters into the sea, the pier ends in a colorful two-story octagonal building, the Wave Stopping Pavilion (Huilange). With its carved beams and painted eaves, this romantic pavilion is an enchanting sight by moonlight.

       

 

   

Ba da guan (Eight Great Passes)

Located in the east of Huiquan and covering an area of 700,000 square meters, “Ba da guan Scenic Area” is a well-known view sanitarium in China. There are ten quiet and cool roads here, which are named after eight famous passes. That’s why it is called “Eight Great Passes”. Before liberation, Ba da guan was the location of Consulates in Qingdao, so there are over twenty kinds of architectural styles here, such as styles of Britain, France, America, Japan and Russia, etc. Thus it is called “World Architectural Fair”.

Qingdao Catholic Church

The church was built in 1932 and accomplished in the year of 1934. The tower is 56 meters high, the highest building in Shandong Province before 1949. And it is the only consecration church in China. The building area is 6301.54 square meters and it is made with yellow granite and concrete bricks.

   

Jiaozhou Bay Sea-crossing Bridge

The Qingdao Sea-crossing Bridge across the Jiaozhou Bay, connects the two main urban areas (the east and the west) of Qingdao together. It starts from the state road 308 in the east, stretches across the Jiaozhou Bay, and ends in Hongshiya of Huangdao in the west. The total length is about 35.4km, which is the second longest one in the world.

   

Specialty and food

As a worldwide regional trade center, Qingdao is also an industrial city and a major foreign trade port. Its mineral water, wine, and excellent Tsingtao Beer are world-famous. Among the local arts and crafts, shell carvings are especially popular with tourists. Meanwhile, Qingdao is famous in China for its delicious fresh seafood.
